Winter is finally starting to set in in Barcelona and the pending close of the year is making me start to ask: “have I done all I can this year to bring myself closer to my dreams?”
For anyone reading this newsletter, I’m assuming that one of your dreams is to become a top skilled coach and have your own thriving business. While those dreams involve a variety of lofty pursuits that are exciting to tend to, today I am writing about a seemingly trivial topic, but one none of us are privileged to ignore: the steady and consistent practice of your coaching skills.
You can say: “I know to practice my coaching skills in order to be better. THAT is not news.” Well, every year I do regular check (experiment) among my new students. I stop them multiple times during training coaching session and ask three simple questions: what EXACTLY do you practice now, HOW do you practice it and WHY?
Unfortunately results of my experiments are very consistent year after year – practically nobody can answer to my question fully or with enough clarity. Just some bits and pieces.
