Hello From Sunny Barcelona!
When I started my first business in the late 80s, it was a wild time. Wild in terms of chaos and in terms of lack of rules and regulations. Nobody really knew how business was supposed to be done, so there were lots of people around who were selling you EVERYTHING.
Do you need a car, computer, ship or helicopter or may be 5000 tons of steel? Yes, they always claim that, “They have it.” Once or twice I tried to deal with that category of business person, but very soon I realized: I need to stay away from them. Why? Because there is no point in trusting a person who claims to be an expert in EVERYTHING.
Unfortunately, what the majority of coaches try to do when they start is blindly and broadly market their services straight after getting certified. They were told that it does not matter what problem their clients have (unless it's a therapy matter) – coaching will help. And, while this might be true in coaching theory, it is THE HARDEST possible way to get into business.
What early stage coaches were told in their coaching courses actually hurts their chances of coaching success. Why? Because they did not have any business education and they fall into the “I sell everything” trap.
Luckily, there IS a way out of this trap. Check out the video below to learn what that way out is and how it will help your practice become the business of your dreams….
Thank you so much for listening. Have a wonderful week and we’ll see you next Tuesday, with another Headway Q&A.
Warm regards,
Alex
