If I ask you, “What is the worst coaching session have you ever conducted as a coach?,” do you remember?
I do. It was few months after I graduated and got my certificate as an NLP Coach.
After I analyzed that session in my mind conclusion was obvious: I paced my client far too long and end up in his ‘state,' where I was experiencing all the consequences and side effects that I had been attempting to coach my client through… bad mood… low energy… seeing no ‘right' questions to ask or options to act upon….
Yikes!
We learn best from bad experiences and mistakes, right? Well in my case it was true. I learned, very clearly, the one mistake I had made that allowed me to absorb my clients’ experiences, as well as, thankfully, how to never make that mistake again.
Have you ever mistakenly ended up in your client’s shoes?
While we cover this and all types of personal energy-saving tactics in our Headway Coaching Business School curriculum, click through the video below to start with one simple strategy to avoid this common trap. The whole idea is to stay forever effective and full of fresh, optimistic energy during your coaching sessions…
Thank you so much for listening. Have a wonderful week and we’ll see you next Tuesday, with another Headway Q&A.
Warm regards,
Alex
